According to Cambodian media reports, Minister of Labor Heng Sok said that Cambodia's job market has performed well and maintained an employment rate of about 99%. In addition, working and living conditions have also improved year by year.
Mr. Hing Sok said that currently the number of factories and enterprises in Phnom Penh has reached 9323, with a total number of registered workers of more than 66.Additionally, the total salary here is a staggering $20 billion.Among them, there are 734 factories and enterprises in the garment industry, with more than 34 workers and a total salary of more than 10 billion US dollars per year.It can be seen that Phnom Penh has huge potential for economic development and is one of the most important economic centers in Cambodia.Mr. Hinsok also pointed out that Phnom Penh is the only economic pole in Cambodia and has the largest number of factories and enterprises.This conclusion also confirms Phnom Penh’s key position in Cambodia’s economy and its huge contribution to the country’s economic development.
The Minister of Labor said that Cambodia’s job market has performed strongly in the past few years, while maintaining an employment rate of 1080% out of a total labor force of approximately 99 million people.This achievement is due to the efforts of the Cambodian government and all sectors of society in promoting employment and improving workers’ living conditions.In addition to the employment rate, the Labor Minister also pointed out that wages in Cambodia are also increasing year by year.Working conditions and workers' living conditions have also been gradually improved.Since 1997, workers’ base wages have increased from $40 then to $2023 by 200.This increase fully reflects the Cambodian government’s commitment and efforts to promote economic growth and improve people’s living standards.It is worth mentioning that Cambodia’s job market has also undergone some positive changes in the past few years.With the rapid development of Cambodia's economy, more and more foreign investment and technology introduction have entered Cambodia.These external resources provide more opportunities and challenges for Cambodia’s job market.The Labor Minister said the government will continue to work to promote Cambodia’s job market and improve workers’ living standards.The government will take a series of measures, including strengthening vocational education and training, improving the quality of the labor force, promoting full employment of the labor force, and encouraging and supporting enterprises to increase employment opportunities.In addition, the government will also increase supervision of the job market to ensure market fairness and transparency and prevent monopoly and fraud.The Minister of Labor called on all employers and job seekers to abide by labor regulations and maintain good labor relations to promote Cambodia’s economic development and social stability.
